We’re putting all their support behind local, Tommy Quick, as he embarks on an epic challenge of cycling 9,000kms to the four most extreme points of mainland Australia.
As a 12 year old, Tommy suffered a stroke that changed his life forever. What became clear to him was that this wasn’t where his life stopped.
Tommy’s goal is to increase social inclusion and stroke awareness while raising money to help stroke survivors and improve stroke victim services.
This year there will be almost 56,000 new and recurrent strokes – that is one stroke every 9 minutes. Stroke is one of Australia’s biggest killers and a leading cause of disability. It kills more women than breast cancer and more men than prostate cancer.
With the support of Community Bike Hub and members, the Stroke Foundation can provide support to those affected right now and fund research to help prevent stroke, save lives and enhance recovery.
Tommy’s target is to raise $9,000 – $1 for each kilometre he rides. Every donation is gratefully received at Fundraise 4 Stroke.
