To celebrate our education partnership with Footscray High School we decided to collaborate on a design project with some of their students.
Sage and Scarlett are Year 9 students with a knack for graphic design, who have put together these fantastic artworks which have been applied to a limited edition tote bag and mug available from our new shop at 608 Barkly Street!
The two designs show different creative interpretations of our core values and we were stoked to welcome these two talented designers to the shop earlier in August and present them with their printed designs!
Scarlett (tote bag design):
“I drew this piece on procreate (digitally) and I wanted to put the core values of Bike Hub in my design such as helping (in the form of the fruit helping to fix the bike), and teamwork! I wanted this design to be unisex so that it would be inclusive and could be worn by anyone! I wanted to have a city skyline representing living in the west.”
Sage (mug design):
“My design has an image of someone on a bike, there are the words ‘community bike-hub’ on it and also bike-hub’s slogan -building bikes, building community. There are arrows pointing in a circular path, this symbolises recycling and also circular economy, which are things that bike-hub achieves. There is also a spanner and a screwdriver, showing that bikes are repaired at bike hub.”
Pop by our shop to pick up your own Bike Hub tote bag and/or mug with these unique designs!
Thanks to Footscray High School, design teacher Angella, and the students for their time and talent!
