To cope with the large number of donations we receive from our generous community, the Volunteer Resource Centre at Mills Close has been closed for a light revamp.
While it’s been closed, we’ve been hard at work to help it grow into something bigger and better.
A revamped volunteer space
With easier access to fixing bikes and more repair stands and tools to help build the bikes up, we’ll be able to get more bikes out to people in the community who need them.
We’re planning to kick off volutneering again with a small working bee. Help us sort bikes for recycling, get a tour of the new and improved space, or just drop by for a chat.
When
10am to 3pm
Saturday 30 April

New partnership with Footscray High School
The revamped Volunteer Resource Centre will also play home to a new and exciting program we’re running in partnership with Footscray High School.
The Bike Academy program will engage all year 9 students in an immersive hands-on learning experience that focuses on the repair and refurbishment of donated bikes. The program explores the circular economy that we live and breathe at the Community Bike Hub and teaches participants how to be proactive members of it.
We’re hiring
Do you know anyone who wants to be part of a growing social enterprise?
We’re looking for a Bicycle Workshop Youth Mentor to join our new Bike Academy Program. This exciting new program is a partnership between the Community Bike Hub and Footscray High School and teaches students how to be proactive members of a circular economy.
